Notifications
Know when an agent is done or needs you, without watching it.
Ghostex tells you when an agent finishes or needs your answer:
- A sound plays when an agent finishes.
- The session’s dot in the sidebar turns blue when it’s done and pink when it’s waiting for you.
- Your computer shows a system notification, and the menu bar shows how many agents are working and done (macOS).
- Your phone gets a push notification if you’ve paired it.
The bell
The bell in the sidebar’s top row lists what each agent last did, newest first. Click a row to jump to that session.

Scripts can post to the bell too, with ghostex notify --title "Build finished".
Other computers
The bell covers your other computers too. With one connected, the panel has All, This computer and Remote tabs, and a remote row names its computer. Mark all read and Clear all act on the open tab.
A red row warns you when a banked Claude or Codex usage reset is about to expire. Click it to see that account’s usage.
Change the sound
Pick a different completion sound, or turn it off, in the Notifications section of Settings (Cmd+,). The same section has Attention Notifications (system notifications), a sound for finished Actions, and, with Show Advanced, Copy Sound.
