Report a bug

Send a bug report or an idea straight to the Ghostex GitHub, with screenshots, or let an agent dig in first.

Something broken, confusing or missing? Tell us from inside Ghostex. Your report becomes a public issue on the Ghostex GitHub.

Send a report

Open Send Bug / Feedback

In the sidebar’s More Options menu, right under Join Discord.

Enter your GitHub username

It’s required, so GitHub can tell you when the issue is fixed. Ghostex remembers it.

Describe it

Write what happened, and paste screenshots with Cmd+V (Ctrl+V) or drag them in: up to five PNG, JPEG or WebP images.

Review, then Send

Review shows the exact issue, which you can edit. Ghostex adds your screenshots and the app version and operating system. Open Issue takes you to it once it’s sent.

Let an agent look first

Turn on Collect more data with an agent and the button becomes Start Agent. It starts your default agent in Ghostex’s config folder with your message and screenshots. The agent reads this computer’s Ghostex version, settings and logs, tries to reproduce the problem without changing anything, keeps passwords, tokens and your files’ contents out of the issue, and shows you the whole draft before it posts.

If the session you’re looking at is on another computer, the agent runs there and reads that computer’s logs.

When Ghostex isn’t responding

If Ghostex’s background service isn’t answering, the pop-up offers Open a GitHub issue in your browser instead, with your message and the startup diagnostics filled in. Your username, home folder, computer name, addresses, emails and tokens are removed first, and nothing is posted until you press Create on GitHub.

From the phone

Send Bug / Feedback is in the menu at the top of the Sessions screen, with the same form. If the app closes unexpectedly, it keeps a crash report and offers to send it the next time you open it, with your personal details removed.

From a terminal

ghostex feedback send --title "<title>" --body-file <file> --github-user <name> files an issue, and --dry-run shows what would be sent. ghostex bundle saves Ghostex’s state, logs and a screenshot to attach.
