Terminal

Fonts, colors and behavior of Ghostex's terminals.

Every terminal in Ghostex is a Ghostty terminal. Its settings are in Settings > General > Terminal, and they are saved in Ghostex’s own terminal config, separate from the Ghostty app’s.

Look

  • Font Family, Font Size and Cursor Style. With Show Advanced: font weight, line height, letter spacing, padding, and Bold text uses a heavier font.
  • Import from Ghostty (in the Ghostty settings actions row, Show Advanced) copies your Ghostty fonts, line height, letter spacing and cursor into Ghostex. It never copies the theme. The same row resets the defaults and opens either config file.
  • Terminal background: Black / white (the default), Follow theme, or a Custom color.
  • Terminal width mode (Show Advanced): use the full pane, match the chat’s width, or set your own.
  • With transparency on, Background opacity sets how much of the window’s tint terminals keep.

The config file lives at ~/.config/ghostex/ghostty/config.ghostty (macOS and Linux) or %APPDATA%\Ghostex\ghostty\config.ghostty (Windows). You can add any Ghostty option there.

Custom shaders (experimental, macOS only) runs the custom-shader files from that config over your terminals. Turn on Enable Experimental Features to see it.

Behavior

  • Cmd-click opens a link, and Cmd+V pastes an image as a link the agent can open.
  • Ctrl+G (Ctrl+Shift+G on Windows and Linux) opens a bigger editor for a long prompt, when the agent supports it.
  • The model pill in an agent terminal’s bottom bar works like the chat’s: click it or press Option+P.
  • Show notification on terminal bell treats a terminal bell as a session that needs you.
  • With Show Advanced: copy on select, scrollback size, paste protection, and scroll speed.

Windows

Windows Environment picks where your projects and agents run: native PowerShell (the default) or WSL. Switching asks you to restart Ghostex. Terminals use PowerShell 7 when it’s installed; if you only have Windows PowerShell 5.1, an Install PowerShell 7 button appears.
